A water line has been hit, and as a result, the water has been turned off at Crane High School. Crews are actively working to repair the issue, and we anticipate that water service will be restored within the next one to two hours.
If the issue is not resolved in a timely manner, school may be canceled. We will continue to provide updates as more information becomes available.

CHS Cheerleaders lead again! A huge congratulations to Crane High School Cheerleaders for their success at the state competition this year. We are so proud of our leaders and athletes.
We were honored to have our school board meeting pledges led tonight by Sofia Rizo from Crane Elementary and Humberto Ornelas from Crane Middle School. We are so proud of our Crane Leaders in our school and community!

Angel Barrozo was recognized for all state band today during the regional band performance. Great job Angel.
Very hard working kids did a great job today at the Crane stock show. Many good looking animals and dedicated young individual.

During the School Board meeting tonight, the Football players were Recognized by the Board for their District achievements.
Middle School student Kynlee Goodloe led the Pledge of Allegiance, and Elementary student Lucas Garcia led the Texas Pledge at the Board meeting tonight. Proud of our Crane Leaders.
Congratulations to Mrs. Means for receiving the National Food Grant. This will allow Crane ISD to receive a $95,000 grant to purchase new freezers for the cafeteria. Super proud of Mrs. Means and her dedication to CISD.

Crane ISD Weather Update
As of 4:30 a.m., the temperature remains cold, and roads are wet due to moisture. However, school will begin at the regular time, and buses will operate on their regular schedule.
Please allow extra time for travel and drive carefully, as road conditions may be slick.

Cold temperatures will persist through the rest of the week.
Snow Accumulation: Best potential in New Mexico and the Davis Mountains.
Ice Accumulation: Greatest risk is south of I-10 and in the eastern Permian Basin.
Junior High Games:
Coach Ontiveros is coordinating with Brownfield regarding the games scheduled for Thursday. Updates on any changes will be provided as they become available.
Road Conditions & School Operations:
Mr. Murguia and Mr. Lewis will assess road conditions at 4:00 a.m. Thursday morning to determine travel safety.
A final decision on any schedule changes will be communicated after this assessment.

Here is the latest information from the meeting with the National Weather Service (NWS) in Midland:
Snow Totals: Expected accumulation has decreased to less than 1/2 inch or none.
Best Areas for Accumulation: Snowfall is most likely in New Mexico and Guadalupe Pass.
Timing: Peak snowfall is expected Wednesday night into Thursday morning.
Thursday Highs: Temperatures are expected to reach in the mid 40's
Junior High Games
Coach Ontiveros will be in contact with Brownfield regarding the Junior High games scheduled for Thursday. He will provide updates on any changes to the games as they become available.
Road Conditions and School Operations
