
On June 19, 1865, Union troops arrived in Galveston, Texas with the news that the more than 250,000 enslaved Black people in the state were free. This day came to be known as #Juneteenth, now officially a federal holiday.

Congratulations Tamara Raymond on your retirement. She has 36 years in education. She plans "to take a year to visit all 7 grandkids and just be “nanny” and a coach’s wife."


Congratulations Debra Pettit on your retirement. She began working at CISD as a teacher aide in 1988. She is the most beloved Kindergarten teacher with total of 34 years of experience and 33 of them being in Crane.
