Crane ISD is excited to announce that Sophia Ortiz is our new Library Director for Crane ISD. CISD can’t wait to see all the great things she will do in this new position! Sophia (Sophie) Ortiz is the new Library Director at Crane ISD. She will be overseeing the operation of each library in the district. Sophie has earned a Masters in Library Science from Texas Woman's University. She previously taught 6th grade for 4 years and before that she was the middle school library aide for 4 years. We are so proud of all Sophie's hard work and know she will do a phenomenal job for the district!

I received a Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics with a Minor in Music from the University of Texas Permian Basin. I did not originally start in education. I started working in oilfield related jobs, such as a delivery driver and a parts mechanic, since graduation. I do have some experience in teaching though having worked with the Crane Band as a percussion instructor/advisor since graduating high school. I have many different interests. To list a few though, I enjoy playing/writing music, drawing, playing video games, watching/playing sports, traveling, and spending time with friends and family. “I would like to thank Crane ISD for this opportunity to start my education career back in my home town. The Crane Golden Crane pride still runs through my veins and I look forward coming back to Crane ISD as a teacher.” “We are excited to add Greg to the team! Over the last year we have been able to get to know each other and this relationship has culminated in a great addition to the Crane High School family. Greg's work ethic, dedication to kids and family will serve Crane ISD well for many years to come!”
