The 8th graders were engaged in one last project in middle school; a Cross Curricular Food Truck! They incorporated reading, math, science, and social studies. It was hard work , but they were able to shine! Demonstrating their creativity and critical thinking skills while enjoying the end product.

Parents: 8th graders will be touring the Welding Shop at CHS at 1:30 today, and then going to McCamey to learn about the Oil and Gas, and Medical Pathways PBIZ offers there. They will leave CHS at 2:00 and return to CMS at 4:00.
May is Mental Health Awareness Month, and it’s time to shine a light on the importance of taking care of our minds as well as our bodies.

Parents, Students that do not pass one or more STAAR test will need to attend summer school. Parents will be notified on May 30th ONLY if their student needs to attend. Summer School will run June 2-June 19, 8:30-11:30. Please see letter being sent home tomorrow.
Parents/Guardians, there is a dangerous TikTok challenge going around known as the Chromebook Challenge. It involves students jamming objects like paper clips and pencils into the USB port of the laptop, causing them to short-circuit and possibly catch fire. In addition to posing a serious safety hazard, these actions can lead to costly repairs and disciplinary consequences. We ask for your support in talking with your child about the dangers of these types of social media challenges. Thank you.
Reminder of May Lunch Menu:
Thanks to a grant from the Texas Dept of Agriculture and CISD Board, CISD will be replacing the freezer at the cafeteria this summer. In preparation for this, the cafeteria staff are working to empty the freezer as much as possible. The last 7 days of school (May 12th - May 21st) the menu will be "Managers Choice". The day's menu will be sent out the day before to CISD and social media. Example : Mondays menu will be sent out on the Thursday before, Tuesdays on Monday etc.

Last Thursday, students who completed 16 or more hours of community service were rewarded with a trip to Balmorhea!
The weather was beautiful, the water was cold, and everyone had a great time celebrating their hard work and dedication!
