The
Board of Trustees of the Crane Independent School District met on the 15th
day of November 2001 in regular session with the following members present:

1. Mr. Frymire, Board President, called
the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.
2. Manuel Cadena, Sr. led the invocation.
3. Visitors were recognized.
4. No public comment.
5.
MS Students Kasey Chura, Courtney Gallion and Chelsea Eaton gave a presentation
requesting new computers and printers in the 7th grade computer lab
along with a petition signed by fellow students requesting same.

Bishop moved, seconded by Cadena to approve the 2000-2001 financial audit as
presented by Michael Olliphant.
Adopted unanimously.
6. Frymire moved, seconded by Heard to
approve the consent agenda.
Adopted unanimously.
7. Architect Monte Hunter presented
preliminary plans for the upcoming Administration Building renovation.
8. Bishop moved, seconded by Hubbard to authorize the use of competitive sealed proposals for the upcoming Administraton Building renovation. Adopted unanimously.
11. Tax Collector Becky
Gonzales presented a list of bids received for four properties that are
currently classified as condemned tax property. Bishop moved, seconded by Heard to approve the sale of the
following four properties:

9. Superintendent Warren reported that the law firm of Allison, Bass & Associates has completed their initial assessment of Crane ISD’s voting boundaries following the 2000 census. Under applicable law, a total maximum deviation in excess of 10% will trigger a duty to redistrict. Crane ISD has a total maximum deviation of 24.91%.
10. Bishop moved, seconded
by Hubbard to accept Superintendent Warren’s recommendation to order a
redistricting of Crane ISD’s political boundaries as described in Exhibit “A”. Adopted unanimously.
12. Smith moved, seconded by Cadena to approve the specifications as presented by Transportation Director Swinford for a new 71 passenger school bus. Adopted unanimously.
14. Heard moved, seconded by Cadena to accept Superintendent Warren’s recommendation for adoption of the 2001-2002 District Improvement Plan as presented. Adopted unanimously.
15. Each campus Principal presented their campus plans to the board. Hubbard moved, seconded by Heard to accept all 2001-2002 Campus Plans as presented with additions to come. Adopted unanimously.
16. Cadena moved, seconded by Bishop to equally divide Crane ISD’s 3239 votes for the 2002-2003 Crane County Appraisal District Board of Directors between Inez Dossett, Morris Strand and Shelby Hook which would equate to 1080, 1080 and 1079 respectively. Adopted uananimously.
17A. Board members reviewed monthly bills.
17B. Athletic Director Cherry and Superintendent Warren presented possible upcoming UIL realignment scenarios.
17C. Superintendent Warren reported that he along with Board Members Sid Frymire and Jerry Smith attended the El Paso meeting of the Interim Finance Committee on November 14.
17D. Superintendent evaluation packets were distributed to board members with a request that all members return them completed by Friday December 7 to President Frymire.
17E. Superintendent Warren reported that the Crane ISD web-site is currently being updated by Carrie McNeese’s web design class. He also reported that he will be attending Coach Nelson’s mother’s funeral in Breckenridge on Friday, November 16.
18. Frymire moved, seconded by Bishop to adjourn the meeting. Adopted unanimously.
