         Crane Independent School District

  Wednesday, August 27, 2003

 

The Board of Trustees of the Crane Independent School District met on

  Wednesday, August 27, 2003 in special session with the following members present:

                     

Sid Frymire, President  Ray North, Vice-President Sandy Hubbard, Secretary Helen Romeiser, Assistant Secretary	Jerry Smith Tommy Bishop Manuel Cadena
Administrators Present were: Wayne Mitchell, Interim Superintendent Alan Swinford, Director of Physical Services	Ken Eudy, Business Manager
Other Guest present was: Russell Marshall

 

Item 1    Mr. Frymire, Board President, called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m.

 

Item  2    Discussion and possible approval of 2002-2003 budget amendment.

Business Manager Eudy reported that after all expenditure transactions for 2002-2003

are posted, we are $252,204 under budget in the General Fund and $60,241 under

budget in the Cafeteria Fund.  However, some functions (sub-categories) in salaries,

transportation and renovations were over budget.  Tommy Bishop moved, seconded by Ray North, to approve a $128,550 final 2002-2003 budget amendment as presented.

Adopted unanimously.

 

Item      3    Executive Session.

President Frymire ordered the board to adjourn into executive session pursuant to

the Texas Open Meetings Act, Texas government Code chapters 551.074 for the

purpose of discussing personnel issues.   Time: 5:35 p.m.

President Frymire ordered the executive session closed and the regular session be

resumed at  7:40 p.m.  He also stated that no items of business were conducted in

the executive session.

 

Item  4    Possible action arising from executive session.

Tommy Bishop moved, seconded by Manuel Cadena, to hire Russell Marshall as our

Superintendent search consultant for a fee of $4,000.    Adopted unanimously.

 

Item  5    Sandy Hubbard moved, seconded by Tommy Bishop, to adjourn the meeting.   

Time:  7:45 p.m.    Adopted unanimously.
