         Crane Independent School District

     Monday, May 16, 2005

 

The Board of Trustees of the Crane Independent School District met on

Monday, May 16, 2005  in special session with the following members present:

 

Tommy Bishop, President	Manuel Cadena
Sandy Hubbard, Secretary	Denise Shetter
Jerry Smith	Mary Jo Heard
Board Member absent was:
Helen Romeiser
Administrators Present were:
Larry Lee, Superintendent	Ken Eudy, Business Manager
Other Guests were:
Vonna Johnson	Leigh Ann McCain
Tammy McCain

Item 1    Mr. Bishop, Board President, called the meeting to order at 4:30 p.m.

 

Item     2    Invocation / Pledge.

Omitted.

 

Item 4    Canvass May 7, 2005 school board election for Precincts 1 and 2.

Board members each examined the tally sheets of the May 7 school board election

for positions in Precinct 1 & 2 which showed:

          Precinct 1                                                             Precinct 2

77 votes for Sandy Hubbard                             100 votes for Mary Jo Heard

36 votes for Van Dodd                                       65 votes for Sid Frymire

 

Jerry Smith moved, seconded by Manuel Cadena, to accept the election judges'

results for the school board election held May 7, 2005 and declare Sandy Hubbard

the winner in Precinct 1.  Those voting in favor of the motion were Tommy Bishop, Manuel Cadena, Jerry Smith and Denise Shetter.   Abstaining from the vote was Sandy Hubbard.

Jerry Smith moved, seconded by Sandy Hubbard, to accept the election judges' results for the school board election held May 7, 2005 and declare Mary Jo Heard the winner in Precinct 2.    Adopted unanimously.

 

Item     5    Administer Oath of Office to elected members in Precinct 1 and/or 2.

Notary Public Vonna Johnson administered the oath of office to returning board

member Sandy Hubbard (Precinct 1, 3-year term ending May 2008) and  new board

member Mary Jo Heard (Precinct 2, 3-year term ending May 2008).

 

Item 3    Bank Depository for 2005-2007.

Superintendent Lee reported that two local bids were received for providing our bank

depository services.  Sandy Hubbard moved, seconded by Manuel Cadena, to award Security State Bank of Crane, Texas the Crane ISD depository bid for the time period September 1, 2005 - August 31, 2007.    Adopted unanimously.

 

Item 6    Jerry Smith moved, seconded by Sandy Hubbard, to adjourn the meeting.

Adopted unanimously.    Time:  4:45 p.m.
