The Board of Trustees of the Crane Independent School District met on

Thursday, January 27, 2005 in special session with the following members present:

Tommy Bishop, President Manuel Cadena
Sid Frymire, Vice-President Jerry Smith
Sandy Hubbard, Secretary Denise Shetter
Helen Romeiser, Assistant Secretary
Administrators Present were:
Larry Lee, Superintendent Ken Eudy, Business Manager
Stacy Jones, HS Principal Ted Hallford, MS Principal
Carlin Grammer, Elem. Principal Jimmy Heath, Technology Director
Joy Jones, Curriculum Dir./Elem.Counselor Alan Swinford, Dir. of Physical Services
Other Guests were:
Anna Valdez

1    Mr. Bishop, Board President, called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m.

 

Item     2    Manuel Cadena led the invocation. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited by all.

 

Item     3    Annual Public Hearing - AEIS Review.

Superintendent Lee and administrators presented the 2004 annual AEIS report for grades 3-11.

 

Item 4    Vehicle Purchase.

Sid Frymire moved, seconded by Helen Romeiser, to accept Director of Physical

Services Swinford's recommendation to purchase a Ford F250 Supercab Maintenance

pickup from HGAC purchasing cooperative for $20,732.00.    Adopted unanimously.

 

Item   5    Executive Session.

     A.  Personnel.

     B.  Conduct formative evaluation exchange between Board and Superintendent.

President Bishop ordered the board to adjourn into executive session pursuant to the

Texas Open Meetings Act, Texas government Code chapter 551.074 for the purpose

of discussing personnel issues and Superintendent evaluation.  Time: 7:25  p.m.

President Bishop ordered the executive session closed and the regular session be

resumed at 9:00  p.m.  He also stated that no items of business were conducted in

the executive session.

 

Item 6    Consider/approve hiring of professional staff.

Sid Frymire moved, seconded by Sandy Hubbard, to accept Superintendent Lee's

recommendation to offer a professional probationary contract for the remainder of the 2004-2005 school year (pending release from Culberson County/Allamore ISD) and the 2005-2006 school year to David Turner.    Adopted unanimously.

 

Item 7    Consider/approve contracts for building principals.

Sandy Hubbard moved, seconded by Jerry Smith, to accept Superintendent Lee's

receommendation to extend the two-year contract of  Carlin Grammer, Elementary

Principal to June 30, 2007.    Adopted unanimously.

Jerry Smith moved, seconded by Sandy Hubbard, to accept Superintendent Lee's

receommendation to extend the two-year contract of Ted Hallford, MS Principal  to

June 30, 2007.    Adopted unanimously.

Jerry Smith moved, seconded by Helen Romeiser, to accept Superintendent Lee's

receommendation to extend the two-year contract of Stacy Jones, HS Principal to

June 30, 2007.    Adopted unanimously.

 

Item 8    Sid Frymire moved, seconded by Sandy Hubbard, to adjourn the meeting.
