"Opening Doors for Student Success"

 

Special Education provides supports to help students who have special needs. Special education serves students with a variety of disabilities that require additional services or assistance in order to make educational progress. To be eligible for services, a student must have one or more of the below listed disabilities and must need specialized services which cannot be provided through general education alone. Students are eligible from ages 3-21. Those with visual or auditory impairments are eligible at birth.

*Orthopedic Impairment

*Traumatic Brain Injury

*Mental Retardation
*Non-categorical Early Childhood

Special education services are based on assessment and are developed through a team effort. The team includes the parents, school administrator, teachers, assessment personnel and individuals with specialized knowledge in serving students with disabilities.
