The Crane High School Cosmetology program is a 2 year program for those students who are interested in a career as a Cosmetologist.  Beginning as a Junior and completing as a Senior, these students are fully prepared and eligible for the State Board of Cosmetology Exam at the end of their senior year.  This class is designed to accommodate those who have a real deal desire and the working ethics to put in the time and practice to be successful.  As a cosmetology student, you will be practicing the procedures of hair color, permanent waving, hair cutting, hair styling, makeup application, skin care, manicuring, pedicures, and artificial nails,  Students are required to study salon management as well as rules and regulations, and sanitation of the trade.  Students will be working on mannequins, each other and outside clients for practice.  This class is a privilege for those who are truly interested in a Career.

We also have a intro to Cosmetology for Sophomores who are not sure but would like to know more about the industry.

Cosmetologist are one of the highest paid service skilled occupations in the United States.  It is not unusual for a stylist to earn upward of $50,000.00 per year.  This is dependent on how much you want to make and how hard you want to work.

Crane High School Cosmetology is a member of the SkillsUSA Organization and Competition.  We compete at District, State, and National levels in our trade field and in leadership skills.  Our students have the options to go as far as they can dream and accomplish what ever they want with hard work and determination.

The SkillsUSA motto is "Champions at Work" and this is just what our students here at Crane High School are, "Champions at Work."
